Location
The Halve Maen is located on the south part of the Oostereiland (Eastern Island), at the Centrum Varend Erfgoed (Centre of Sailing Heritage), where it’s in good company is of historic fishing and cargo ships. Address: Schuijteskade 22, Hoorn.

Plan your visit
You will be welcomed in the atmospheric Centrum Varend Erfgoed museum. There you can see and learn more about the ship Halve Maen and about the harsh life of the sailors on the former Zuiderzee (Southern sea, now called IJsselmeer).
A visit to the ship encompasses either a guided tour at 13, 14 or 15 hrs. or an English audiotour. If we do not have an English speaking guide available, you can visit with the audiotour.

Wednesday to Sunday open from 12.00 to 17.00

Note: from the 26th of September, the Half Moon is on its way to the Springtij Forum on Terschelling and can not be visited in Hoorn!
You can find us again and Hoorn from Wednesday 3 or Thursday 4 October.

October 2018
Wednesday to Sunday open 12.00 to 17.00, reserved on tour dates, see the explanation below.

Please note: on Sunday 7 October we are NOT OPEN, the ship is absent for a visit to the dry dock.

Please note: from 14 October onwards we are guests in Enkhuizen for an educational project in the context of the Golden Age month in Enkhuizen.
Sunday 14 October is a public day and you can visit us in Enkhuizen.
Custom entrance fees in Enkhuizen on Sunday, October 14: entrance 5 euros per person (cash only) no discount cuopons or Museum Card valid!
From Monday 15 up to and including Friday 19 October we receive exclusively schools by appointment for our educational project.

The berth of the ship will probably become ‘Landje van Top’ at the end of the Havenweg, near the Dromedar Tower.

On Friday 19 October you can board a unique sailing trip from Enkhuizen to the home port Hoorn.
The costs are 99 euros per person, including catering, drinks on board and a souvenir.
Boarding at 5.15 pm, arrival between 10 pm and 11 pm in Hoorn.

From Saturday 20 October we can be visited again in Hoorn.
On Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 October we were EXTRA OPENED due to the school holidays.
From Saturday 20 October to Sunday 28 October you can use the holiday program ‘Go on a VOC trip’ at the Halve Maen.

November 2018
Saturday and Sunday open from 12.00 to 17.00

December 2018 – early April 2019
In this period we are open by appointment for education and groups (from 10 people, smaller groups after consultation).

Sailing days
The Halve Maen is worthy sailing yacht. It will then be also, with some regularity, found on the waters of the IJsselmeer. Here you will find the sailing schedule of the Halve Maen shortly. On those days the ship cannot be visited.

The Halve Maen is not suitable for wheelchairs, prams and buggies.
As your visit to the Halve Maen is actually a personal guided tour, so therefore less suitable for young children.
Please note that there is no car park at the Halve Maen and or the Centre of Sailing Heritage.
