Ship Halve Maen is located in the harbour of Hoorn at the Centre Sailing Heritage on Oostereiland (Eastern Island).

Public Transport
You can reach the Halve Maen with public transport from Hoorn Railway Station ( From there you can go to the ship on foot or with Hoorn City Tours.

You cannot come by car to the Halve Maen or park in the immediate vicinity of the Oostereiland, this is only for licensees. Please use one of the following parking locations. On the map you will see how long the walk from your chosen car park to the Halve Maen will take you.

Are you going on foot from the station or from your car? Then just follow the signs ‘Oostereiland ‘. From Hoorn railway station it is a 20-minute walk to the Halve Maen.

You can also take a Water taxi Hoorn to the Oostereiland. They leave among other places from parking named ’t Jeudje and Karperkuil.

Important: plan your route in advance
We start your tour at the Halve Maen punctually on time. Calculate in advance in how long you need to get to the ship and make sure you are there in plenty of time. There is plenty to see and do on your way.

Not suitable for wheelchairs and people who have walking difficulties.
Ship Halve Maen is a historic ship and therefore not suitable for wheelchairs and people who have walking difficulties. The Halve Maen is not suitable for wheelchairs, prams and buggies.
As your visit to the Halve Maen is actually a personal guided tour, so therefore less suitable for
young children.
